“Helping Teens Manage Stress Through Mindfulness”
Tuesday, April 7, 2020, 7 – 8:30pm
This discussion will focus on the benefits of mindfulness and yoga and how to use these tools to help teens manage stress. We will explore the effects of mindfulness on the brain, as well as the physical, mental and emotional benefits of a yoga practice. Paired together, yoga and mindfulness can help teens reduce anxiety, improve focus, decrease physical signs of stress, enhance social relationships and increase confidence. Discussion will also include some techniques that you can try at home with your teen.
Kelly is a Clinical Social Worker and Yoga Instructor based in Bucks County, PA. She has worked in a variety of settings including residential facilities, schools and in private practice. She teaches several yoga classes a week, including a bi-monthly Teen Yoga class in Newtown. She is currently in full time private psychotherapy practice, also in Newtown, where she works with children, teens, adults and families.
There is no charge for CHADD members. A $5.00 donation is suggested for non-CHADD members.
