“Parent & Student Partnerships for a Successful Transition to College”
Tuesday, November 19, 2019, 7 – 8:30pm
Tonight’s presentation will be an interactive workshop for parents and college-age students with disabilities specific to a successful transition to and through college.
Participants will receive accurate information and resources key to a smooth transition to college. This presentation will provide strategies and tips on academic success throughout a student’s college career.
Topics covered in the presentation include: two-year vs. four-year college; commuting vs. living on campus; summer bridge programs; accommodations; academic coaching and mental health supports
John Woodruff is Director of the Academic Success Center and Disability Resources at Rowan University, Glassboro, New Jersey. He coordinates campus services for students with disabilities and manages transitions for students entering college. John holds an MS in Health Education from St. Joseph’s University and a BS in Business Administration from St. Francis University (Loretto, Pennsylvania).
